Toyota is not just a global market leader in automobiles. It is also a company with some pretty fascinating visions. Take the futuristic vehicles for instance. They would surely blow your mind. Toyota has showcased some of its concept vehicles for the future in the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show and the most enticing one they have come up with, or would come up with, is the FV2.

Toyota FV2 might be more than just another new concept. It has the potential to redefine what we know as driving. It can actually lead to the next phase of evolution in automobiles. Let us first take a sneak peek into the future of driving.

Toyota FV2 looks like a pretty smart vehicle. It is small and compact, quite sleek and the overall design seems to be straight out of the comic books or the science fiction epics. However, what sets the FV2 apart from other vehicles which may all claim to have the same attributes is the correlation of the driver’s body and being with the driving experience of the vehicle. There is no steering wheel or stick, so to speak. The vehicle would be driven by the physical movement of the driver. So if the driver leans forward, the vehicle accelerates. If the driver leans back, then the vehicle decelerates or comes to a halt. Turning or leaning left would turn the vehicle left and turning or leaning right would take the vehicle right. It all looks very simple to read or to imagine but to make this a reality, there has to be some groundbreaking advancement in automobile technology.

The Toyota FV2 would also have an emotional connect with the driver. It would sense the mood of the driver using voice recognition and behavior. The vehicle would remember destinations and also assist in the driving experience. With a customizable screen inside the visor or the windshield, with an intelligent transport system technology which allows connectivity with other vehicles in a given area and to stay hooked with traffic infrastructure in real time, the driving experience can be unparallel. From knowing blind spots to advance warnings for collisions or dangers of an accident, the FV2 is a league apart compared to contemporary vehicles when it comes to safety.

Toyota FV2 would combine augmented reality, assisted driving and a seamless correlation between the driver and the vehicle, something that has never been attempted before.
