LG G Flex had impressed many and failed to swoon some in 2014. At the turn of the year, LG has already showcased the successor to Flex, the G Flex 2. More powerful, sleeker, slightly advanced and a tad more stunning, the LG G Flex 2 is poised to impress.

LG G Flex 2 comes with the same curved form factor which was clearly made a norm for this series with the launch of the Flex. The display is slightly smaller at 5.5 inches in comparison with the 6.0 inches in the Flex. This implies that the phone is back to the smart phone segment rather than trying to break into the phablet segment. The Curved P-OLED display of 1080 x 1920 pixels is also resistive to 20 percent more force than usual and it would still not break. The self healing back plate on the Flex 2 is more advanced than the one that came in with the Flex. In the preceding model, the back would get healed from scuffs and scratches in a few minutes. That gets done in ten seconds on the Flex 2.

A quick sneak peek into what’s inside and outside the Flex 2 – it is the first phone to sport a 64-bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset clocking at 2.0 GHz, there is a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus and optical image stabilization plus (OIS+) developed by LG and the front cam is 2.1 megapixel. With a 3,000-mAh battery that has turbo-charging capability, LG promises that the G Flex 2 would get completely charged in just about an hour or half charged in forty minutes. LG G Flex 2 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop and boasts of quite a few, otherwise less significant, add-on features such as glance view and multiple display inclusions in one screen or homepage.

One of the rather interesting features of the LG G Flex 2 is the automated selfie. All you have to do is hold up the phone in your hand, fist up which would gesture the phone to take a photo and there would be three seconds for you to get ready when the camera would automatically take a picture. This selfie mode or the convenience of taking a selfie worked quite well at the demo in Vegas. If it works just as well when the G Flex 2 rolls out, then it might cause some frenzy.
