A Hoverboard is an imaginary board, which resembles a skateboard very closely. These mythical boards are used greatly in movies to present the act of personal conveyance. Many movies have even worked on special effects showing the hoverboard sliding smoothly above the ground level. Some manufacturing companies have also started taking advantage of the popularity of such movies which promote hoverboard concept and have launched their hovercraft vehicles like the Formula 1 racing hovercraft which is capable of travelling over water. But these products have not worked in the way the actual hoverboard is presented in the movies. Some of the popular movies which have depicted the hoverboard concept are Back to the Future. Hoverboard is a lot famous in video games and enhances the gaming experience a lot.

How a hoverboard is different from a skateboard?

The appearance of a hoverboard and a skateboard somewhat looks similar, just a hover effect creates the difference. Hover effect basically imparts some superpower to a skateboard and gives it the ability to fly above the ground level. Hoverboard is like a wheels-free skateboard .Hoverboard requires much more momentum than the skateboard. Many famous toy companies have tried manufacturing a hoverboard. But there were rumours during late 90’s that many famous companies dropped the idea of launching a real hoverboard as some parents may not allow their children for a hoverboard ride.

How hoverboard would change the world, if launched in real?

The world would be quiet happier to have such a magical commodity in real. People would jump out of joy, watching children and youngsters sliding on a hoverboard on the roads. The launch of a hoverboard would change the life of fun-loving people a lot. The world would appear a little dreamy and fictitious. The toy companies would earn a huge profit as this product would definitely be a hit in the market. Different models of the hoverboard would be invented. May be some hoverboard models would be invented, which would be capable of floating on the water or ice, apart from normal roads.

When can we expect the real hoverboards?

A hoverboard appears really magical when presented in movies. This concept became so popular that children started exploring the same thing in toy stores and famous toy companies started thinking of innovative ideas for manufacturing a real hoverboard. Many manufacturing companies landed up in launching hovercrafts. Many companies have created hoverboard like products which are used in depicting a real hoverboard in movies, animations and video games. But this idea is not feasible in rea right now. It is difficult to inculcate a strong magnetic force in a board which can fly a level up the ground. Also the momentum and physical balance of a person’s body are huge questions on the manuacturing of such a product in real. Another factor which would require attention is the architecture of a real hoverboard and the manufacturing material. This unusual product demands much more advancements in technology and science.

Despite Back to the Future’s prediction, we think one may expect their invention in another few years down the line or may be more.
