3D printing is certainly the wave of the future. We have no doubt of that. But what some of us are wondering is when a dependable, affordable printer for the rest of us will be available. Recently, we found out about the Kickstarter project called GP3D: Root. Might this 3D printer be just what we are looking for when it comes to putting 3D printers in every school and home in America? Might be! Read on to learn more about GP3D: Root and why we think it is so cool.
Affordable
One of the most common reasons that everyone is not yet investing in 3D printer technology is because of the shear cost. GP3D knows this. Because of this issue, they have developed a printer that will cost only a few hundred dollars. This is as opposed to a cost of a thousand dollars or more. By lowering the cost significantly, the Root could easily find its way into offices, homes, and classrooms all over the country. But do not let the cheap price fool you! The Root still packs a powerful punch in both material quality and technical specs.
Simple to Use
For some people, they have not yet started using 3D printer technology because they feel that the task might be daunting to learn. But with the simple interface used by GP3D, anyone of any age or experience level will find it more than easy. You can start printing things with just a click of the mouse. Or load your plans directly to your Root to have them print. With a totally open printing area, you can watch your project being created from start to finish. Hand touch controls are also outfitted on the printer for simple control of printing.
Stable and Dependable
We mentioned before that the Root’s price does not mean you should not think it is stable and dependable. The Root design is made totally of metal. Each unit comes with a 1 year warranty. Most will find that the printer is even very simple to fix should something of wrong with the unit. Root printers have been tested on projects that have taken hundreds of hours of continuous printing. This means that you can print any size project, big or small. You never have to worry about whether or not your printer can finish it up.
