10 years after showcasing Scarpar, an all terrain powerboard, Dan Baldwin is back. This time, he showcases his upgraded Scarpar, the Ungoverned powerboard. Scarpar did not see the light of the day, at least in the market and it is unlikely that Ungoverned would find its place in the stores anytime soon. But it is surely a thrilling ride.

The Ungoverned powerboard is basically a niftier, lighter and closer to the ground version of the Scarpar. There are two articulated tracks which offer amazing grip on almost all kinds of surfaces or terrains. The tracks can be controlled with a handheld throttle and are powered by a motor onboard. The motor is basically a 125 cc, single cylinder motor from a Thumpstar dirt bike. The Ungoverned powerboard is 15 Kg lighter than the Scarpar and about 60 mm closer to the ground than its predecessor.

Dan Baldwin, the inventor of this rather odd machine, is enthusiastic about the Ungoverned. He was equally enthusiastic about Scarpar. Having been a true stunts man at heart, his craving for action doesn’t cease and that has led him to come up with this wonderful gadget that can allow you to ride atop any kind of terrain. It doesn’t matter if you are heading onto the beach, treading on a desert, have to climb atop a plethora of rocks or a long haul of logs, the Ungoverned powerboard will let you travel, rather ride, atop any terrain. You don’t have to get stuck on your bike at the sight of a few logs anymore. You don’t have to carry your cycle on your shoulder when you come across some erratic rocks. You don’t need to worry about the tricky areas while you are biking and you certainly don’t have to walk away from any terrain now. You can comfortably ride along on your Ungoverned powerboard without caring about the ground below, that is of course if it gets into manufacturing and is made available for the public.

Dan Baldwin is apparently working on the electric variant of the powerboard and it may be that which will roll out in the market. For now, there are only a few videos of Dan using his powerboard speeding atop sand, rocks and logs. You may have to wait a while before this lean and mean machine rolls out on your backyard.
