Minipresso is what every coffee lover needs, if the claims of Wacaco are to be believed. It is a lightweight and thus portable, easy to use and effective espresso maker. If the device works as it is being advertised, then Minipresso would be the answer to all your needs for some coffee while you are on the move. It doesn’t matter whether you are on the road or at a remote town, on a hiking trip or at the lakeside lazing on one weekend; you would have your Minipresso make delicious cups of espressos whenever you want.
You would have to carry your coffee and water along with Minipresso. None of that should take much space in your luggage or backpack. The device weighs about 0.8 lbs which is pretty convenient to carry. The semiautomatic piston inside Minipresso exerts a pressure of 116 psi which is what the conventional espresso makers generate to make your favorite beverage. The result is a strong and rich blend of your choice of coffee. The device also allows you to make serves of various sizes. The pumping piston can make a small shot at thirteen pushes, a standard espresso at eighteen pushes and a double espresso at twenty eight pushes.
Once you are accustomed with what Minipresso has to offer, you would question if you need it. The truth is that you would do well with such a machine if you are a travel bug or if you spend a lot of time outdoors, mostly away from your favorite café or Starbucks. If you do have access to cafes, then you may want to enjoy the comfort that you have been used to. Else, this sleekly designed device is a good friend. There is a tinge of a difference in the espresso that is made by Minipresso and the one that you have at a store. It is understandable since it is a much smaller machine and it takes much less time. However, if you want the exact espresso you have loved all these years, then you may not immediately like the blend of Minipresso.
The device has some very useful features such as the varying container sizes to hold more or less water as per your requirements and the cup atop the cylinder, like a thermos, which can be used to pour the coffee. But with no word on warranty yet and little information on the maintenance requirements, Minipresso is yet to be tried and tested.
